A doctor struck off for disciplinary reasons a decade ago wants to resume his career in medicine, according to documents.

Dr Murugappan Keerthy, who last practised in Preston, will have an application to have his name restored to the medical register heard by an expert panel.

A panel from the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service will hear his argument at a hearing before making a decision.

No date has yet been published.

Dr Keerthy qualified at the Sri Lankan University of Jaffna in 1991.
