Ruby celebration for girl guiding group
4th Fulwood St Peter’s Rainbows, Brownies and Guides first opened in 1976, the same year as St Peter’s Primary School, and Brownies have been meeting there ever since.
To mark the anniversary, the Brownies designed a special badge and all members have completed a series of activities through the 4th Fulwood Ruby challenge.

Youngsters enjoyed rugby coaching, provided by Grasshoppers, and Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spoke to children and allowed them to sit in their vehicles.
Families also had fun on the giant inflatables, donated by Skillscc.com.
Carol Phillips, Guide leader, said: “Throughout the last 40 years our units have been full of lively, enthusiastic girls having fun at weekly meetings, going on special days out, sleepovers, holidays and camps.

“It has been wonderful to see so many girls progress through the units, develop new friendships, learn new skills, gain confidence and have just have lots of fun.
“The girls have enjoyed the 40th anniversary and doing the 4th Fulwood Rugby Challenge. One of the challenges was to help other people, so we held a danceathon, raising £636 to be split equally between St Catherine’s Hospice and Cash For Kids. Everyone had fun dancing to music from 1976 onwards.”
