Key 2024/25 dates for Preston North End - transfer window open and close, fixture release, pre-season and more

When is fixture release day?

Preston North End’s full fixture list will be published at 9am, on Wednesday, 26 June. On that day, PNE will learn when they will be shown on television - as part of the EFL’s new broadcast deal with Sky Sports. TV picks for August and September will be confirmed in late June, with each Football League team to be shown more than 20 times in the season.

When do the transfer windows open and close?

Preston North End’s summer business can begin on Friday, 14 June. The English Football League has confirmed dates for the 2024/25 season, with the summer window set to close at 11pm on Friday, 30 August. As for January, the window will reopen on Wednesday, 1 January and shut at 11pm on Monday, 3 February.

When does the season start?

As part of the new broadcast deal, each EFL game will be broadcast live on the opening weekend, which kicks off on Friday, 9 August. Two 8pm games will take place on that night, with a couple of Sunday matches anticipated too - time TBC. Every other game should be a 3pm kick-off on the Saturday, but with no Premier League games taking place the TV blackout is not in force.

What are the season card dates to be aware of?

Season cards for the 2024/25 campaign went on sale this week, on Monday, 13 May. Early bird prices can be taken up by supporters until Monday, 17 June. Supporters will pay in accordance with the age they will be on August 10. A full breakdown of prices can be found here.

When will the new kits be out?

Chairman, Craig Hemmings, has confirmed the home kit will be released at the end of May. He said: ‘To coincide with our pre-season training camp and to give fans the chance to get their new PNE kits for the summer, we are aiming to launch the 2024/25 season home kit later this month. This is on the back of record-breaking sales of Castore merchandise in the first year of our new agreement.’ Last season’s away kit was released in mid-July, with the third strip early August.

When is pre-season?

The only date we have, at this stage, is the pre-season training camp in Spain. North End will head to Campoamor on Saturday, 6 July and play Lincoln City on Friday, 12 July - at the Pinatar Arena again. It is expected that Preston will face Bamber Bridge, so that could well be the first friendly of the summer.
