Lancashire Police quizzed on status of Preston Odeon fire investigation

In the days following the Church Street fire – as bulldozers tore down the gutted building – three boys were arrested on suspicion of ‘arson endangering life’.
A 16-year-old and two boys aged 14, all from Preston, were taken into custody and interviewed by detectives.

Hide AdThey were later released on bail as Lancashire Police continued with its enquiries.
During the past five moths, no update has been issued by the force, leading to concerns that the investigation might have stalled.
Today (Tuesday, October 18), the force was asked about the status of its investigation and whether any progress has been made.
What did Lancashire Police say?
The Post asked for an update on the three teenagers arrested in May and whether they are still under suspicion. We also asked whether detectives are looking for any further suspects.

Hide AdA police spokesman said: “All three were released under investigation back in June and that remains the same.
“There’s not much more we can say for operational reasons, other than that the investigation is very much ongoing and we are still appealing for witnesses.”
