A missing 78-year-old man from Leyland was found “safe and well” following a police appeal.

Thomas Sharp was reported missing from his home in Leyland on Thursday morning (August 25).

Lancashire Police launched an urgent appeal to find the 78-year-old and urged anyone with information to come forward.

Officers later confirmed Thomas had been found “safe and well” in an update posted at 2.40pm.

“Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal,” a spokesman for Lancashire Police said.
