The vice-president, Julia, welcomed members ,new members and visitors to the meeting.
After Jerusalem our oldest member, Irene, cut the birthday cake which had been made by Meg and Happy Birthday sung to celebrate our 11th birthday.

After the business part of the meeting had been dealt with the speaker for the afternoon, Mr Barry McQueen, was introduced and very entertaining and informative he proved to be.

He explained that he was the official Town Crier for Blackpool not to mention several other well known towns and cities where he has met many interesting personalities. A very enjoyable and amusing talk.

The competition for an amusing birthday card was judged , the raffle was drawn and the birthday flowers presented to our treasurer.

The next meeting is at The Priory Club, Leyland on Tuesday, November 18th at 1.30pm when Chandra Law will speak about Malayasian Festivals. Visitors are always very welcome.
