Our Monthly meeting was by Mrs K Watson, Anchor – "Stay Put, Stay Safe".
Anchor Trust is a National organisation that offers services wide and varied to the older population.

This can vary from homes to providing maintenance in your own home.

'Stay Put – Stay Safe', is the sector that deals with the upkeep of peoples own homes.

This is so they can stay in their own homes as long as possible.

It could be as small job like a tap washer or a battery. Contractors do core Services like Damp proofing & Roofing jobs after 3 quotes have been obtained. 'Anchor Trust' over see the job from start to finish.

Our next meeting was a fashion show by 'Tatters', a local ladies wear shop to Longton. This was very well attended, with some lovely ideas.

Our last meeting of the month was with Mr P Moore of the Royal National lifeboat Institute.

This was a very informative meeting giving the origins of the Charity, and reasons for not wanting be Government funded like the other rescue groups.

Mr Moore gave us some ideas of the charity's work and the scope of it's volunteers. There was also a short DVD presentation.
