After our busy Birthday month, we got back to normal with a talk on Fire Safety in the Home, given by Wendy Kirkbride from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
She told us about the most common fire risks in the home and of the importance of correctly positioned smoke alarms – tested weekly.

The Fire and Rescue Service will provide free home safety checks, smoke alarms if necessary, and advice on what to do in case of fire.

Our trip this year took us to Shrewsbury for sightseeing, followed by a country run to Bridgenorth, where we enjoyed a carvery lunch at the Punch Bowl Inn.

We then carried on to Much Wenlock for a visit to a local pottery, with time to enjoy this lovely town with its Abbey and attractive shops.

Thanks, Joan and Joyce, for organising such an enjoyable day.

Some members enjoyed a pub lunch at the Smithy Inn, Much Hoole, two teams took part in a Quiz Night with Moss Side WI, and two members visited Jodrell Bank on a Lancs. Federation trip.
