Kath Seagrave presided over the October meeting held at St James' School on October 1.
Everyone was made welcome.

A minutes silence was held for Mrs Evelyn Jones who had passed away, she was a founder member of Moss Side WI and Jerusalem was sung in her memory.

Business matters were dealt with and reminders given out for various events. Final instructions were circulated for the Birthday party to be held at The Pines in November.

The 'Ladies in Harmony Choir' will be singing in Ripon Cathedral next year so arrangements will be made to organize a coach trip.

Canon R J Brunswick arrived to give us a talk on 'Strange things in Medieval Britain' this was very entertaining and opened our eyes to the conditions and customs performed in Medieval times.

The vote of thanks was given by Margaret Ward.

The competition for a Halloween mask was won by Dorothy Frankland and the raffle prize went to Williamina Perry.

Next meeting will be on November 5th, with a Hot pot supper 7.15pm St James' School, Moss Side.
