Ordsall Acapella Singers are now back in the Everyone Centre on Tuesday evenings 7-9pm.
For the past few months the singers have been raising the rafters of Ordsall Hall with their bittersweet melodies.

The Hall is now closed for refurbishments and so the Acapella Singers are joyfully back at their old haunt at 2 Robert Hall Street, Ordsall M5 3LT.

The group has grown in strength, with practically double the numbers they had at the start of the year and are producing really lovely sounds, but, says their indefatigable musical director Jeff Borradaile, there is always room for more.

So new members, beginners or experienced singers - you are all very welcome and will soon feel an integral part of the choir.

If you want to hear the Singers, come to an early evening of folksongs at the Eighth Day Cafe in Oxford Road, Manchester, 5.30 to 7pm Friday September 19 - catch them at a roving spot at Ordsall Festival in Ordsall Park on Saturday 20 September - or keep an ear open in Manchester on Saturday November 22 as we sing around the city as part of the Manchester Amateur Choral Competition 2008.

The Singers are also planning a workshop with Celia Anderson of the nationally renowned Black Voices (see http://blackvoices.co.uk) on Sunday 21 September in the Everyone community centre. There are still a few places for this workshop (cost £15) but numbers are limited so apply soon.

Check our website, www.ordsallsingers.co.uk, ring Gail at Ordsall Community Arts on 0161 8488779 or Judy on 0161 8770491 for further information, or just turn up at a rehearsal.

No previous experience is needed and sessions cost only £4/3.
