Penwortham Townswomen's Guild - October 2008

At the meeting of the above Guild on October 20th 2008, the Chairman, Mrs.L.Burns, welcomed two new members.
After the minutes and financial statement were read Mrs.Burns welcomed the speaker, Mr.Gordon Bartley.

He gave a slideshow of beautiful views of the Lake District entitled "Light on the Landscape", which was greatly enjoyed.

After a break for tea, biscuits and 'chat' the meeting continued with information of forthcoming events, Tickets were on sale for the federation event "A bit of a do" on November 28th.

The menu for the Christmas Lunch was read for members to make their choices also two items for 2009 were announced, an Interguild Federation Quiz in January and a Charity Event in March.

At the next meeting on November 17th, Mr Alan Foxall of Southport Botanic Gardens will hold 'An Afternoon Of Flower'.

Visitors are most welcome to what promises to be a good afternoon.

Starting at 2pm in St.Mary's Hall, Cop Lane, Penwortham.
