Published Date: 22 October 2008
On Monday October 6 the first talk of the new season of Preston Historical Society was given by Dr Stephen Bull who is the Director of the Museum Of Lancashire, Stanley Street, Preston.
His talk was about the Battle of Preston in 1648.

The audience of over 80, was entertained by his most fascinating description of events leading up to the actual Battle.

This talk provided a fine start to the programme for our Diamond Jubilee Year 2008 - 2009. The next talk will be on Monday November 3, 2008.

The speaker will be Arthur English, whose subject will be 'My Life In Textiles' which promises to be most entertaining.

The venue for all our meetings is the Central Methodist Church , Lune St, Preston.

Our talks start at 7.15 pm. Visitors and new members are very welcome.

Annual Membership fee is £10, visitors pay £2.

Contact Pat Eves, Secretary, on 01772 861637 for further details.
